Ridge capping, also known as roof ridge flashing, is the flashing that covers the peak where two roof sheets meet. It seals the highest point of your roof to stop rain, dust, and debris from entering beneath the sheeting. Using COLORBOND® ridge capping ensures a watertight, clean finish that complements the look of your entire roofline.
Designed for both new builds and re-roofing projects, ridge capping is essential for preventing leaks and protecting structural timber from moisture damage. It also adds a polished, professional edge to your home or commercial building.
Our ridge cappings are manufactured from genuine BlueScope in .42bmt or .55 BMT steel in your choice of COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® finish. These durable materials are made specifically for Australian conditions — corrosion-resistant, UV stable, and backed by BlueScope warranties for peace of mind.
Whether you’re replacing existing ridge capping or finishing off a new COLORBOND® roof, our flashings are designed to deliver a watertight seal and a consistent appearance.
Ridge flashings are supplied in multiple widths, angles and profile types suitable for corrugated roofing, TRIMDEK®, KLIP-LOK® and other metal roof applications. Choose the type that matches your roof pitch and sheeting profile, then use suitable roofing fixings during installation to provide a secure finish and help protect the peak from wind-driven rain. If the size you need is not identified on this page, complete our Custom Flashing Order Sheet or contact us for custom ridge capping.
Every ridge capping is made in Australia using authentic BlueScope steel, ensuring compliance, durability, and local support.
What is the standard ridge capping size?
Most COLORBOND® ridge cappings are around 127mm to 220mm per side, depending on roof pitch and sheet profile. Custom sizes are available.
Is COLORBOND® ridge capping better than zinc?
COLORBOND® ridge capping offers the same corrosion protection as ZINCALUME® but with a premium pre-painted finish in modern colours.
Can I buy ridge capping at Bunnings?
You can, but our ridge cappings are cut to your length from genuine BlueScope steel, ensuring a cleaner fit and better long-term value.
