What does an apron flashing do?
Where a roof sheet runs into a vertical wall, the apron covers the join: the upstand goes up the wall under the cladding or into a saw cut in the brickwork, the skirt lays over the sheet and sheds water back onto the roof. Without it, wind-driven rain runs straight down the wall and under the sheet end.
What size is it, and can I change it?
Standard size is 90mm upstand x 140mm skirt, with a 30mm drip edge folded at 110° so water clears the sheet instead of tracking back under the flashing. Made in 0.55mm BMT. Cut to length from 1.0m to 6.5m. Length tolerance is +200mm / 0mm. For a different size, download the custom flashings order form and email it to sales@metalroofingonline.com.au.
Which screws do I use?
Fix the skirt through the rib crest with colour-matched 12 x 65 roofing screws, and the upstand to the wall with wall cladding screws or into a sealed saw cut. Seal the top edge with roof and gutter silicone.
